World Class Partying!
Newcastle's been included in a list of the world's top ten party cities - so it's no surprise it has a booming late-night scene. There are popular mainstream clubs on the Quayside and in the city centre. Many of them are huge - such as Legends and Klub Ikon - and cover different music in each room. Newcastle-Gateshead's Quayside has Julie's 2, Sea, Baja Beach and the iconic 'Boat' - the Tuxedo Princess, a nightclub on a ship, complete with 70s room and revolving dance floor! Newcastle's gay scene happens in the south west corner of the city, and the wild and friendly Rockshots is its key club.
Live It Up In Style
Middlesbrough also has a good cross section of clubs and music. Stylish Club M at Tall Trees in Yarm attracts clubbers from across the north, and is regularly featured in the national music press. In the town centre, the Venue and the Arena have has top dance music and the Chicago Rock Café has live bands. In nearby Stockton, the Millennium nightlcub on Teesside Park has a keen following. Sunderland has two scenes - students and locals. Indie and alternative music is featured at Ku Club; with mainstream dance at Pzazz. Manor Quay is always popular for live bands, as is Liberty's. And as with all Northumbrian clubs - the real party's in the queue!
